Year of the Rooster

If you have ever coexisted with chickens you will know what incredible characters they are.  Each one has a personality all its own, so it is no wonder they have played a role in many cultures.

This is the Year of the Rooster in Chinese astrology which will shower more celebrity on this dandy bird.  The worldly rooster legends, stories and myths are too many to discuss, but from them comes great symbolism.   They symbolizes honesty, fortitude, luck, fortune, fidelity, protection, bossiness, hope, faith, victory, and bravery.  Perhaps they are most well-known for the luck they bring, and the hospitality they represent, which might be why they are always in the kitchen – the heart of a home’s hospitality.
